Only Life 04:00
ONLY LIFE (4:01) Love burned with anger when I lost it. Love threw me sorrow out of spite. But it showed me the innocence of the heart that aches inside. Love gave me fear and made me face it. It gave me scars that I never tried to hide. But it showed me the beauty of the world that waits outside. I walked so long on this uphill road to forgive Love, and I finally found myself on top of the world when I let it all go. Only Life can pave the road to heaven. Only Love can lighten your burden. Trust you heart to know the road to heaven. It’ll be clear as day, it’s the straightest highway to you. Love brought on me darkness and made me blind, and filled me with questions and unreliable desires. But it showed me the valor of the man that came alive. Love fed me spirit in my last mile. Love brought me joy and ever since I never lost my smile, nor the wonder for the mystery that’s life. I prayed so much on this uphill road to forgive it all, and I finally found myself on top of the world when I let it all go.

Shangri-La 04:00
SHANGRI-LA (4:00) I stick my thumb in the wind and follow... Where the bottle stops nobody knows. So I set aside my hesitations, and let them blue skies be my inspiration. With my pockets full of thunder, curiosity and wonder. I’m sick and tired of feeling stuck. I refuse to believe I’m out of luck. So I’m taking off to find my paradise, my shining star, the golden lights of Shangri-la. The world just might want to steal my star, so I’ll keep my eye on Shangri-La. No more looking out my window, asking Lady Luck to put me on the quickest road to Rome. So I seize this day, no time to waste! I grab my manhood and my six-string and hit the highway with a suitcase full of wonders, magic melody and rapture. I’ll follow all my doctor’s orders and disbelieve in my own borders.

ANOTHER SILVER LINING (3:42) So tell me brother what I did wrong. How did I loose my favorite song? Where did I leave that melody? I rode on providence far too long, it slipped in the cracks and it was gone. I found myself without a dream. But I know down deep inside... It’s OK, it’s alright, I followed the trail of a falling star. So I’ll just keep on waiting on another silver lining. It’s OK I’ll get by, I hung on the tail of a falling star. So I’ll keep on believing that another silver line will come my way. So tell me my friend what went wrong? The crowd forgot to sing my song... Such a shame it faded in the end! But it’s alright, it’s not so bad. Greater woes have failed to beat lesser men. I see greener fields around the bend. And I know deep down inside... Expectations sailing high through the sea of a thousand dreams. Crashing hard against the ice of cruel reality. Expectations flying high out of the mist of a thousand fears. Seeking solace in the stars so far out reach.

Ambrosia 05:11
AMBROSIA (5:12) Where will I be when you find me? How will my soul stir when I first hear your name? Under the sun, are you anywhere to be found? How will the earth move when you first speak my name? I’ve been waiting since the last lifetime to wrap myself with the fire in your eyes. I’ll cross the fields of lilies to find home in your eyes. Over the fields so pretty, home is in your eyes. Who will I be when you come to me? Will I be worthy of walking in your grace? What will I know of myself and all I’ve sown when I’m in the highest fortress of your embrace? I’ll be waiting for countless lifetimes till I know you by the ocean in your heart and the ambrosia in your kiss. I’m not alone, I’m not alone to face the world. I’ve found my own humble castle by the sea. I see the storms break on the walls as they unfurl. Standing on the grand facade, I just laugh above it all despite the world. Under the signs Destiny urged me to get on my knees and bow to your feet. Under the sun Destiny chose me. The road to my bliss is under your feet.

SAINTE CÉCILE’S SONG (4:18) It’s an August Sunday with a high-noon sun looking my way. I’m just laying on a sun-burnt patch on Sainte-Cécile’s lawn. I sit and watch the wind blow, listen to the grass grow, daisies smiling back at me... What a wondeful show! I count my blessings that I belong to this... It’s a glorious day with a million October colors on my birthday. Out on the orchard road, friends and folks stopping time to take the time to savor what we know. I sit and watch the world go, and feel myself grow old, with children smiling back at me, who’ll see more than I’ll ever know. I count my blessings that I belong to this... As it is, simple and beautiful to live, it don’t get much better than this. As it is, simple and wonderful to give, it don’t get much better than this. On a winter moon, Father Time tucks in Mother Nature, sleepy from the bounty of her womb. So till April blooms tomorrow, let the Dreamtime in the meantime cover the world. Under the winter ball I dance to the snowfall. Holidays are here again and Love is ripe to pick my friends. I count my blessings that I belong to this.

These Waters 03:57
THESE WATERS (3:58) I’m gonna row the only boat I own past the oceans of illusion to the edge of time. Just to find the sweetest joy I know sitting just across the universe in a corner of my mind. So I turn around and cast away the burden of my load to embrace what awaits me on the other side... They say these waters can wash any sin. I found my river inside my skin. So the walls must crumble to let the sunshine in. I spent so much time looking for redemption... So I forsake the shores of slavery to all the snakes and ladders and petty things cluttering my space. I put up my sail in search of gravity. I drop the anchor and lose the fever come Redemption Day. So if my destiny depends upon my dignity, I know no storm could even sink me on my journey to be free... They say these waters can wash any sin. I know that bliss is beyond my skin, so the walls will tumble to let the sunshine in, to let the beauty begin.

PROMISED TOWERS (4:14) There’s a rising wind on the Eastern sky, the storm will fall tonight. But the rain won’t wait for your heart to decide if you’re going to step outside. So you wait out the storm by a dying fire, and count the hours till morning light. But when the cold takes hold, when the winds don’t die, when the sun forgets to shine... What you gonna do? In the middle of all your sleepless nights, when you’re thinking of how the cold will bite? What are you gonna do in the middle of your lonely nights? You didn’t bet on your promise when you rolled the dice on a beautiful life. Up from this tower I see your trembling walls. Will you just sit and wait for them to fall apart? Is it out of selfish pride or a sudden fear of heights that you still stand outside my door? Sooner or later you’ll discover by trial and fire that Love is the inevitable pyre. Nor in hell or high water would this tower surrender with Love standing guard inside. Love... Without it you know your wells run dry, without it your sun don’t shine, because Love is all we are. Love is all for Love.

Just a Man 04:04
JUST A MAN (4:05) I don’t know what to say. I don’t know what to do with agony. I don’t know who to be anymore, nor what to make of what you’ve left of me. There’s not a damn thing I see, since you blew the candle, and closed your heart, and kept the key. I don’t know where to look baby, since you set your sights on the lights of “Love” in Sin City. I’m not a monster, but I’m no angel either. I’m just a man, it’s all I’ll ever be. You just saw the anger, when my love was so much (infinitely) brighter. You stole your words away without weighing how the void would creep inside of me, without giving me the time of becoming who I was about to be. You put your love to shame, pulled the carpet under this heart of glass for all to see. So why do I love you all the same, when my broken pieces are laid out at your feet? I’m not a monster, not an angel either. Just a heavy heart under too much stormy weather. I’m the Love that shines brighter than a hundred thousand suns. My little white angel left my side, gone to float on a shady cloud. But when it comes down where will you hide? There won’t always be that crowd. My guardian angel left my shoulders, and now only dances in my dreams to the ungrateful song of another world... Waiting for you to fall, to cut your wings, and show you the door.

MAGNIFICENT DESOLATION (4:06) I can see where I’m standing and the clock is spinning fast. I’m caught in the sand staring at a road paved with gold. I’m tired of waiting for a savior to manifest. I’ve been sleeping for so many years at the crossroads of my fears. There’s no place like home sweet home, rooted in stone like the oldest of oak. Through the sun I feel the breeze filling my lungs with a fragrant serenity (the sweetest emptiness). I can see where I’m standing but the sun is setting fast. The silence of dusk awakens my senses. The world is sleeping so no one can hear me pass. I follow the bedouin’s call to the Great Oasis. Far into the dunes, I’ll walk for many moons. Magnificent Desolation awaits me soon.

GONE LIKE A TRAIN (3:36) On the run again, seems you still can’t stop the engine from running in your head. Blind from the steam, you missed your station again. What’s in stillness that you fear? Do the roots run down too deep? Is the wind running in your veins making you rush like a train? In your head again... You try to mend the memories you left out on the rails. Spent from the race, the pieces fall out of place. Lives are passing you by, yet you can’t seem to lose the loneliness sleeping in your bed. Tired of the ghosts living in your shadow. What about home do you fear? Do the roots run down too near to the hearts you've burned with games? So you run like a train, you’re gone like a train! God only knows your heart is a diamond in the slum. Good things come to those who shine through the grind only to find sweeter days and changing times. God knows how it all ends when home is a restless ghost train headed for a wreck. You can always use that ticket home where the sea comes out to greet your weary feet. What of all the angels you’ve ignored... Were they all such a dreadful bore? What of those you yearn to meet... Are they missing or plain to see? What of the one you want to be... Do the wings grow out too far and grand and strong to carry when you’re running like a train? You got to jump that train! Or you’ll be gone like a train.
